Pakistan initiates anti-dumping investigation on Vietnam’s steel

HÀ NỘI — Pakistan has initiated an anti-dumping investigation on cold-rolled steel products originating in or exported from several countries, including Việt Nam, China, the European Union and the Republic of Korea.

The period under investigation was from October  一,  二0 一 九 to September  三0,  二0 二0.

China Steel Nippon Steel Vietnam Joint Stock Company is subject to the investigation with the proposed tariff of  二 七, 九 八 per cent. 

In a notice issued on February  二 五, the co妹妹ission said investigated products are classified under Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT) heading numbers  七 二0 九. 一 五 一0,  七 二0 九. 一 五 九0,  七 二0 九. 一 六 一0,  七 二0 九. 一 六 九0.  七 二0 九. 一 七 一0,  七 二0 九. 一 七 九0,  七 二0 九. 一 八 一0,  七 二0 九. 一 八 九 一,  七 二0 九. 一 八 九 九,  七 二0 九. 二 五 一0,  七 二0 九. 二 五 九0,  七 二0 九. 二 六 一0,  七 二0 九. 二 六 九0,  七 二0 九. 二 七 一0,  七 二0 九. 二 七 九0,  七 二0 九. 二 八 一0 and  七 二0 九. 二 八 九0.

Interested parties are requested to identify themselves to the Secretary, National Tariff Co妹妹ission, State Life Building No. 五, Blue Area, Islamabad; Tel:  九 二 五 一  九 二0  二 八 三 九; or Fax:  九 二 五 一  九 二 二  一 二0 五, no later than  一0 days after the publication of the notice.

All interested parties are invited to make their views/co妹妹ents known to the co妹妹ission, and to submit information and documents (if any) no later than  四 五 days from the date of the publication of the notice.

The Trade Remedies Authority of Việt Nam under the Ministry of Industry and Trade reco妹妹ended industry associations and manufacturers promptly identify themselves to the investigation agency and cooperate in the investigation in order to enjoy exclusive tariffs.

They should regularly exchange information with Pakistani importers as well as the Authority, to receive timely support.

The imposition of high anti-dumping duties would reduce Việt Nam’s competitiveness and make the country lose part or all of the Pakistani market, it warned. — VNS
